SUNDERLAND are looking increasingly likely to sign Jayden Danns on loan today, with the Liverpool forward understood to prefer a move to Wearside to a switch to Hull City.
Both Sunderland and Hull made formal approaches to the Liverpool hierarchy yesterday, with Reds boss Arne Slot having given the green light to Danns’ loan departure at the end of last week.
The terms being offered by both clubs are understood to have been broadly the same – a previous approach from Blackburn Rovers did not progress beyond the formative stage - which led Liverpool officials to leave a final decision up to Danns and his representatives.
The 19-year-old looks more likely to head to Sunderland, with the Black Cats challenging at the top end of the Championship rather than battling for survival close to the foot of the table.
Further talks will take place in the next couple of hours, in the hope that Danns will travel to Wearside before lunchtime to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of his proposed switch to the Stadium of Light.

If all goes to plan, he could then travel to the Riverside this evening to watch Sunderland take on Middlesbrough.
Danns, who is the 18-year-old son of former professional Neil Danns, first joined Liverpool at the age of just eight and has progressed through the club’s academy in the last decade.
He made his Premier League debut just over a year ago, and played in last season’s Carabao Cup final as Liverpool beat Chelsea at Wembley.
He has made three senior appearances in the current campaign, but was not part of the squad that beat Bournemouth at the weekend.
